The Great Duck Derby 2023
Saturday, August 19, 2023
12:00 PM - 05:00 PM
Crossroads Park
1101 North Poplar Street, Casper, WY, USA
It's that time of the year again! The Rotary Club of Casper Great Duck Derby will be taking place Saturday, August 19th at Crossroads Park in conjunction with the Platte River Trails Riverfest. Ducks will hit the water at 3:30pm and the drawing will be held at 5:00pm.
How does it work?
The Rotary Club of Casper owns thousands of rubber ducks, all with unique numbers printed on the bottom. "Adopt" a duck by making a donation in exchange for a ticket. Your ticket # and contact info will be entered into our master database and then using a randomization program, every ticket is assigned a duck number. Using a massive boom, ducks are all released into the river at once. They are then collected at the finish line and winners are determined by matching the winning duck numbers back to the ticket purchaser.
How do I enter?
Duck Derby tickets are $20.00 each and can be purchased online here, from any local Rotarian, at Hilltop Bank, Altitude Veterinary Hospital, Martinizing Dry Cleaning, Jonah Bank, Hampton and Suites, Casper Chamber of Commerce, and Urban Bottle. Tickets are on sale now through 3:00pm on August 20th.
What can I win?
Purchasing a ticket will enter you for a chance to win a cash prize in the amount of $5000, $3000, or $1000! There are also dozens of other raffle prizes from a variety of local shops and establishements.
Who does it help?
Proceeds from the Duck Derby have been used to fund past projects including Rotary Park at Garden Creek Falls, Crossroads Adventure Playground and the adjacent Bouldering Park, support for the Wyoming Rescue Mission, Casper College Board Room, Gutter Bins/clean river project, the Wyoming Food for Thought greenhouse project, and the Wyoming Food Bank of the Rockies food packing project.
All proceeds from Duck Derby stay in our local Natrona County community. Proceeds from this year’s Duck Derby will go to upgrading Adventure Playground at Crossroads Park with ADA accessible equipment. We will also be upgrading playground equipment at Sunny Acres Park in the City of Mills located behind the Mills Police Department and the Mills Fire Department on Lakeview Drive.
