12:00 PM - 05:00 PM
Crossroads Adventure Playground
Crossroads Park, North Poplar Street, Casper, WY, USA
Its that time of the year again! The Platte River Trails Riverfest and Casper Rotary Club Great Duck Derby will be taking place Saturday, August 22nd, from 12:00pm-5:00pm.
Rotary Club owns thousands of rubber ducks, all with unique numbers printed on the bottom. "Adopt" a duck by purchasing a raffle ticket. Your ticket # and contact info will be entered into our master database and then using a randomization program, every ticket is assigned a duck number. Using a massive boom, ducks are all released into the river at once. They are then collected at the finish line and winners are determined by matching the winning duck numbers back to the ticket purchaser.
Duck Derby tickets are $20.00 each. Tickets can be purchased online or in person at the Platte River Trails Office, Express Employment, Cadillac Cowgirl, from any local Rotarian, or at Mike Lansing field the day of the event.
Prizes include $3000, $2000, and $1000 in cash, as well as many other great prizes! You do NOT need to be present to win, although the event itself is going to be a lot of fun!
Ducks will drop @ 3:30pm and finish @ Crossroads Park.
Proceeds from the Duck Derby have been used to fund past projects including Rotary Park at Garden Creek Falls, Crossroads Adventure Playground, support for the Wyoming Rescue Mission, Casper College Board Room, gutter bins/clean river project, the Wyoming Food for Thought greenhouse project, and the Wyoming Food Bank of the Rockies food packing project.
Current & future projects include Crossroads Adventure Park Phase II (bouldering park, flushable restroom facilities, drinking fountains, and water bottle refill stations), Wyoming Food for Thought (garden/planting beds project), and the Wyoming Food Bank of the Rockies (food packing project).
